Chocolate Cobbler
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2: Boil Water
Put a pot of water to boil for later use (you'll need 2 and 1/4 cups).
Step 3: Melt Butter
Melt a stick of salted butter in the microwave.
Step 4: Mix Dry Ingredients
In a bowl, combine 1.5 cups of self-rising flour, 1.25 cups of sugar, and 1.75 tablespoons of cocoa.
Step 5: Add Milk
Add 3/4 cup of whole milk to the dry ingredients and mix gently with a spoon. Do not use a mixer.
Step 6: Pour Mixture into Pan
Pour the mixture evenly over the melted butter in the pan. Do not stir.
Step 7: Prepare Chocolate Topping
In a separate bowl, mix 1 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of cocoa until lumps are gone. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the batter in the pan.
Step 8: Add Boiling Water
Slowly pour the boiling water over the entire mixture in the pan. Do not stir.
Step 9: Bake
Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes.
Step 10: Serve
Once baked, let it cool slightly before serving with ice cream on top. Enjoy your delicious chocolate cobbler!
