Step 1: Prepare the Chicken
- Take 1 lb chicken thighs.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add 2 tsp canola oil.
- Add 2 tbsp cornstarch and mix until the chicken is nicely coated.
Step 2: Make the Sauce
- In a bowl, whisk together:
- 1.5 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
- 3 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp water
- 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 3 minced garlic cloves
Step 3: Cook the Chicken
- Heat some oil in a pan.
- Add the coated chicken and cook until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the chicken is golden brown.
Step 4: Finish the Sauce
- In the same pan, add 2 tbsp green onion whites.
- As the butter melts down, add the sauce mixture.
- Stir and cook until the sauce thickens.
