Step 1: Prepare the Chicken

  • Take 1 lb chicken thighs.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Add 2 tsp canola oil.
  • Add 2 tbsp cornstarch and mix until the chicken is nicely coated.

Step 2: Make the Sauce

  • In a bowl, whisk together:
    • 1.5 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
    • 3 tbsp honey
    • 2 tbsp water
    • 1/2 tbsp sugar
    • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
    • 1/2 tsp paprika
    • 3 minced garlic cloves

Step 3: Cook the Chicken

  • Heat some oil in a pan.
  • Add the coated chicken and cook until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the chicken is golden brown.

Step 4: Finish the Sauce

  • In the same pan, add 2 tbsp green onion whites.
