Cooking steps
Sprouted Green Gram Paratha Recipe
Step 1: Prepare the Green Gram Mixture
- Take approximately 1 cup of sprouted green gram and coarsely chop it in a chopper. [00:27-00:46]
- Chop a small piece of ginger, one garlic pod, and some green chillies in the same chopper. [00:51-01:05]
- Add fresh coriander leaves, turmeric, and asafoetida to the mixture. [01:14-01:20]
Step 2: Make the Dough
- Add 1 tablespoon of oil and salt to the mixture. Optionally, you can add sugar for a slight sweetness, but it is not necessary. [01:20-01:39]
- Add 1 cup of wheat flour.
- Gradually add water little by little and knead into a soft dough. [01:52-01:56]
- Apply a little oil on your hands and coat the dough, then let it rest for about 5 minutes. [01:56-02:06]
Step 3: Roll and Cook the Paratha
- Divide the dough into balls ready for rolling.
- Roll the parathas without making them too thin to avoid tearing due to the coarse chopped green gram. You can dust with flour or use some oil while rolling. [02:11-02:29]
- Cook the paratha on low flame as the green gram is raw. Cook until golden brown on both sides. [02:29-02:41]
- Use ghee, butter, or oil for cooking; this recipe uses oil. [02:41-02:45]
Step 4: Serve
- Serve hot sprouted green gram parathas with boondi raita, pickle, chili, or tea as preferred. [02:56-03:04]
Enjoy your high-protein, delicious sprouted green gram paratha! [03:11-03:19]
