Cooking steps

Cauliflower Recipe

Step 1:

  • Heat a pan on medium high heat and add the cauliflower florets before the oil gets too hot.

Step 2:

  • Fry the cauliflower florets until they start to brown at the edges.

Step 3:

  • Add sliced red onions (or yellow onions) and stir.

Step 4:

  • Optionally, add chopped garlic along with the onions.

Step 5:

  • Keep stirring until the onions wilt down and become pale in color.

Step 6:

  • Add seasonings:
    • 1 teaspoon of freshly crushed black pepper
    • Salt to taste
    • 1/2 teaspoon of kashmiri red chilli powder (or paprika)
    • 1 tablespoon of tomato paste (or substitute with tomato sauce or puree)
    • Optional: a little bit of sugar.

Step 7:

  • Cover the pan and cook on low heat for 5 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally to check the tenderness of the cauliflower.

Step 8:

  • At the end, add 1/2 teaspoon of garam masala powder (optional).

Step 9:

  • Garnish with coriander leaves before serving.
