Cooking steps
Butter Chicken Recipe
Step 1: Marinate the Chicken
- Take around 800 gm of Chicken.
- Add 1 tbsp Salt, 1 tbsp Red Chilli Powder, 2 tbsp Ginger-Garlic paste, and 4 tbsp Curd.
- Mix well and marinate for 2 hours.
Step 2: Prepare the Gravy
- In a pan, add a little Oil and Butter.
- Add Chopped Garlic, Mace, and 2-3 Green Cardamom pods.
- Add Chopped Tomatoes and stir the mixture.
- Allow the Tomatoes to cook nicely.
- Add a few pieces of Ginger and Green Chillies, then mix well.
- Add a little Water and some Coriander, then switch off the gas and let it cool down.
Step 3: Cook the Chicken
- In another pan, add a little Oil and the marinated Chicken.
- Cook covered for 10 minutes until the Chicken is cooked and the water from the Curd has dried up.
Step 4: Grind the Gravy
- Once cooled, grind the Tomato mixture in a grinder until smooth.
Step 5: Combine Chicken and Gravy
- In a pan, add a little Butter, 2-3 chopped Green Chillies, and long cut slices of Ginger.
- Stir until the Ginger is cooked, then add the strained gravy.
- Add the cooked Chicken to the gravy and mix well.
- Add a little Salt, Red Chilli Powder, and Cream according to your taste.
- Bring to a boil.
Step 6: Final Touches
- Add Honey (or Sugar or Tomato Ketchup), Cardamom powder, Garam Masala, and a little Butter.
- Stir in Coriander Leaves and crushed Fenugreek Leaves.
Step 7: Serve
- Your Butter Chicken is now ready to serve! Enjoy!
