Cleaning and Seasoning the Blackstone

Step 1: Remove debris [00:03]

Turn on the heat and use a bench scraper to scrape away all the grease and debris from the surface.

Step 2: Cool and clean with water [00:06]

Turn off the heat, pour water onto the surface to help loosen remaining grease and cool the surface, then scrape it clean.

Step 3: Deep clean with degreaser [00:19]

Spray a degreaser over the surface and scrub thoroughly with a mesh sponge to loosen any remaining grime.

Step 4: Heat the surface [00:30]

Turn the heat back on to high for at least 10 minutes until the surface is very hot.

Step 5: Season with oil [00:37]

Once smoking hot, drizzle on a neutral oil with a high smoke point. Use a paper towel to spread the oil thinly. Let the oil burn off for a couple of minutes. Repeat this process until properly seasoned.
