Free Apps to Get Recipes from TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Videos
Updated · by MealClip
Short answer
Yes, there are free options, but every tool we checked that publishes its limits caps the free plan. MealClip runs in your browser with nothing to install and gives you one free recipe after a Google sign-in; ReciMe, Flavorish, Video2Recipe and Pestle have free tiers with their own limits, such as 5 imports a week on ReciMe or 3 recipes a month on Video2Recipe.
If you only need one recipe, any of their free plans will do, and the manual way (caption, pinned comment, link in bio, transcript) is always free.
Which free tool fits what you need
You just need one recipe, on the web, with nothing to install: MealClip. Paste the link, sign in with Google and your first recipe is free (videos up to 5 minutes). Video2Recipe is another web tool, with 3 free recipes a month.
You want a recipe box app on your phone that also imports from social media: ReciMe, Flavorish and Deglaze have iOS and Android apps; Pestle is for Apple devices.
You would rather not sign in anywhere: MealClip asks for a Google sign-in before it converts a video. Without any account, the manual way always works: read the caption, check the pinned comment and the creator's link in bio, or open the transcript on YouTube.
The tools compared
Everything below comes from each tool's own website or App Store page, checked on October 6, 2026. Prices and limits change often, so check their site before you subscribe. Where a tool does not publish a detail, we say so instead of guessing.

What to compare before you pick one
How the free limit is counted. "5 a week", "3 a month", "15 saved" and "1 per account" are very different if you cook from videos every day versus once in a while.
Web or app. A web tool works on any device from the link you already copied; an app is handier if you want a recipe box on your phone and share videos straight into it.
Which platforms it reads. All of the tools above mention TikTok and Instagram; check that the one you choose covers YouTube or Shorts if that is where you watch.
Quantities. Many short videos never say exact amounts. A good tool lists what the creator actually said or showed and leaves the rest blank rather than guessing.
Doing it for free, by hand
No tool needed: each guide walks through where creators put the recipe on that platform.

Is there a completely free app to get recipes from TikTok?
Not with unlimited use among the tools we checked: every one that publishes its free-plan limits caps it (MealClip: 1 recipe per account; Video2Recipe: 3 a month; ReciMe: 5 imports a week; Flavorish: 5 social media imports; Pestle: 15 saved recipes). The manual way, reading the caption, the pinned comment and the link in bio, is always free.
Is there a free website to get a recipe from a video, without installing an app?
Yes. MealClip and Video2Recipe run in the browser. ReciMe and Flavorish also offer a web version next to their mobile apps.
Can I get a recipe from a video without signing in?
MealClip asks you to sign in with Google (one click, no password) before converting a video; browsing the recipes already on MealClip needs no account. For other tools, check their site. Without any account, use the manual way: caption, pinned comment, link in bio or the YouTube transcript.
Is MealClip free?
MealClip is free to try: sign in with Google and your first recipe is free, from any video up to 5 minutes long. After that, unlimited recipes from videos of any length are part of Premium, which costs $2.99 a month or $19.99 a year. If someone has already turned the same video into a recipe on MealClip, it opens without using up your free recipe.
