Is Recipe Keeper Free? Recipe Keeper Pro Price and Free Version
Updated · by MealClip
Short answer
Recipe Keeper is free to download and try, but the free version is limited and the full app is a one-time Pro upgrade: $19.99 on the US App Store. There is no subscription.
Recipe Keeper does not publish the free limit on its website or App Store page; App Store reviewers mention a cap of 20 recipes. The Pro upgrade is bought separately on each platform.
What Recipe Keeper costs
From Recipe Keeper's website and its US App Store listing, checked on October 29, 2026.
Download: free on the US App Store for iPhone and iPad; it is also available for Android, Windows and Mac.
Recipe Keeper Pro Upgrade: $19.99, a one-time in-app purchase on the US App Store. Prices on other stores and countries may differ.
Each platform is a separate purchase: its App Store page says using it on other platforms needs a separate purchase there.
What the free version allows
Recipe Keeper's website says "Try it free today!" but neither it nor the App Store description states the limit. Reviews on the App Store mention starting with "the free 20", so expect a small cap before you need Pro.
Recipes, shopping lists and the meal planner sync across your devices; Recipe Keeper does not say on its site whether syncing needs Pro.
Can Recipe Keeper save recipes from Instagram, TikTok or YouTube?
Its website says you can search for recipes on the web, Instagram and TikTok and add them straight to your collection, with hundreds of recipe websites supported, and its App Store version history lists importing recipes from Instagram and TikTok.
For YouTube, the App Store page only mentions adding links to online videos to a recipe, not turning the video into a recipe.
If the recipe you want is only in the video (spoken or shown on screen), a converter that reads the video itself does that job: MealClip reads the narration, the on-screen text and the caption of TikTok, Instagram Reel and YouTube videos.
Recipe Keeper vs Paprika
Both are recipe managers paid once per platform. Recipe Keeper Pro is $19.99 on the US App Store; Paprika 3 is $4.99 on iPhone and $29.99 on Mac or Windows.
Paprika publishes its free limit (50 recipes on Android and Windows); Recipe Keeper does not.
Paprika is moving its new features to a subscription with Paprika 4; Recipe Keeper has no subscription.
