Cooking steps

Hainanese Chicken Rice

Step 1: Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl, marinade the chicken thighs with soy sauce, sesame oil, and turmeric. Set aside.

Step 2: Cook the Rice

Heat the chicken broth in a pan until it is boiling, then add rice, minced garlic, ginger slices, ginger paste, and sesame oil. Give it a good mix.

Step 3: Add Chicken

Place the marinated chicken on top of the rice, sprinkle with some green onions, and cover with a lid.

Step 4: Cook

Cook on high heat for 5 minutes. Then, turn the heat to low and cook for 10 minutes. Turn off the heat and let it rest for 15 minutes (as the rice is still cooking).
