Cooking steps

Creamy Garlic Lemon Pasta

Step 1: Boil Water [00:10]

Place a large pot of water over high heat, cover it, and allow it to come to a boil.

Step 2: Prepare Garlic [00:17]

Crush 1 bulb of garlic to remove 4 large cloves. Peel and thinly slice the garlic.

Step 3: Prepare Lemon [01:02]

Zest 1 whole lemon and juice half of it. Thinly slice the zest for garnish.

Step 4: Cook Spaghetti [02:18]

Once the water is boiling, season it with salt and add 400 grams of spaghetti. Cook for one minute less than the packet instructions until al dente.

Step 5: Make Sauce [02:39]

In a large pan over medium-high heat, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1.5 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Allow it to melt, then add the garlic and a pinch of sea salt flakes. Fry for about one minute without browning the garlic.

Step 6: Add Lemon [03:05]

Add the thinly sliced lemon zest and all the lemon juice to the pan, cooking for another minute to slightly reduce the juice.

Step 7: Add Cream [03:23]

Pour in 1 cup of thickened cream and season to taste with cracked black pepper. Mix well and bring to a light boil, then reduce to low heat to simmer.

Step 8: Combine Pasta and Sauce [03:51]

Once the spaghetti is al dente, transfer it directly from the pot into the sauce. Add the parsley (if using) and fold everything together, cooking for one final minute.

Step 9: Serve [04:22]

Serve the pasta in bowls or plates, garnishing with reserved lemon zest, parsley, and freshly grated parmesan cheese. Finish with cracked black pepper to taste.
