Chocolate Date Cake Recipe
Step 1: Preheat oven
Preheat your oven to 180°C.
Step 2: Soften dates
Place 15 medjool dates in 1 cup of warm milk in a large bowl. Leave aside for 20 minutes to soften.
Step 3: Blend date mixture
After softening, blend the dates and milk mixture until smooth.
Step 4: Combine ingredients
Add 1 and 1/4 cups plain flour, 3 tbsp cocoa powder, 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda, 1 tsp baking powder, and 2 eggs to the blended date mixture. Mix well.
Step 5: Prepare baking tin
Pour the batter into a prepared loaf tin. Optionally, top with chocolate chips.
Step 6: Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
