Cooking steps

One Pan Chili Cheese Tortellini

Step 1: Cook the beef [00:01]

In a large pot, brown the ground beef. Once cooked, drain the grease if necessary.

Step 2: Sauté the vegetables [00:08]

Add the diced yellow onion and green bell pepper to the pot. Season with a little salt and pepper and stir.

Step 3: Add aromatics and tomato paste [00:19]

Add a large scoop of garlic and about 3 ounces (half a 6-ounce can) of tomato paste. Fry for 3-4 minutes to caramelize.

Step 4: Combine the liquid ingredients [00:35]

Add the can of Ro-Tel tomatoes, 8 ounces of tomato sauce, 1 can of beef broth, and the packet of chili seasoning. Mix until combined and bring to a simmer.

Step 5: Add tortellini and cook [00:46]

Add 12 ounces of dry cheese tortellini, stir, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes until the pasta is cooked.

Step 6: Adjust consistency and add final touches [00:54]

If the mixture is too dry, add a splash of water and a splash of cream. Stir in 4 ounces of grated sharp cheddar cheese. Serve immediately.
