Cooking steps

Easy Slow Cooker Beef Chili

Step 1: Prepare the slow cooker [00:05]

Add 2 pounds of lean ground beef into the slow cooker. Break the meat apart with a spoon and spread it into an even layer. Season with salt and pepper.

Step 2: Add vegetables [00:29]

Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and jalapeño on top of the beef.

Step 3: Add beans and seasonings [00:37]

Add the rinsed and drained kidney and black beans. Add the garlic and tomato paste. Sprinkle the chili seasoning mix over the top, then add the diced tomatoes and beef broth.

Step 4: Cook [01:17]

Cover the slow cooker. Cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 6-8 hours. About halfway through cooking, use a meat chopper to break the meat into smaller pieces and stir to combine everything.

Step 5: Serve [01:31]

Serve in a bowl topped with a dollop of sour cream, shredded cheese, and chopped green onions.
